Golf Swing Tips - How to Get a More Consistent Swing and Lower Your Score

Whether you are just starting out as a golfer or you have been playing for years, chances are that you are interested in finding away to cut a few strokes off of your scorecard. One of the best ways to actually do this is to create a solid swing that will allow you to know exactly where you are sending your ball every single time.

The first thing that you have to understand is that each swing is different for each type of shot, driving the golf ball and putting it are obviously quite different but so is chipping and hitting your irons. There is no one swing that can do everything there are multiple types of swings that excel at a certain shot. You just have to learn how to do each one properly.

The first part of the swing that you will have to begin working on is your grip. You have to be able to find a grip that is most importantly comfortable to you. The key thing to remember is that your palms should always be facing each other, no matter what.

The next thing to address is your stance, you must keep your chin up, shoulders square, and knees always bent never straight, and understand that your power is coming from your hips. This will set up the consistent part of your shot because if your body is in the same position it will allow you to recreate the same stroke.

From here you must create the backswing itself be sure not to twist or turn too much in the process as this will create a shot that will hook or slice which is something you want to avoid unless your into that sort of a thing. Keep your right leg exactly in the same position and be sure that your backswing has a slight arc to it. Be sure that both your feet are evenly distributing your weight and that when you are pulling your club back that your arms and hands of both sides move as one piece.

In your downswing be sure that your right arm stays straight till the very end where it can slightly unhinge. Your left hip should turn slightly in the direction of your target and your right knee may turn just a little at the end as well. In this process your left arm should be long and relaxed as well.

Be sure that your club follows the exact same path going down, that it did when it initially went up, another way that your shot will become more consistent.

In order for you to fully maximize the potential of your swing you must practice it every single day whether you are in your backyard or out on the golf course. Also I highly recommend looking into getting some videos or books that can help you go more in depth on the entire swing giving you step by step instructions.
