Angles = Leverage, Leverage = Power, Power = Distance, No Angles, No leverage, No Power, No Distance

Golf instruction is based on the need to know doctrine.

It is also based on the goal of the student. Some times getting the ball in the air is good enough. And so when you take a golf lesson and learn to do that, well, you are done. Good!!

Some of you, however, have higher aspirations. Your goals are to play as well as the body the good Lord gave you will allow. This is where the "need to know doctrine" comes into play.

This article is for you. Those who think their game can be better than just getting it in the air.

It is an advanced on line golf lesson that will give you a tremendous boost if you will go to the range and practice with purpose. You will never get to your full potential without this golf lesson.

Remember this ..practice makes perfect, but only if your practice is perfect.

And for you who are not so " into it" you should read this too. It will give you information that you will not hear during a golf swing instruction. But you can tuck away the knowledge and when you are ready, you can adopt it, and put it in your swing. There is nothing wrong with having an advanced lesson, even if you are not ready to use it. You will have it for later. Especially if it's free.

So what follows is based on the need to know doctrine. If you want to play as good as you possible can, you need to know what is contained here.

As always, I will first tell you that there has hardly ever been a good player with a bad grip. So, for crying out loud get a good grip. Start with left hand more on top than on the side of the club. Two knuckles viewed when held in front of you at eye level.

The right hand then should be a bit on the side more or less matching the left hand. The thumb of the left hand goes snugly into the pad of the right hand. The pad is the fat part of you right palm that is the extension of the palm side of your thumb. It's just above where your life line is.

Funny thing about that.

Your grip is not a light wimpy grasp. It is very snug with the right hand onto the left hand. You should be able to feel some tension here.

And just for the heck of it, if you don't think the golf swing is a violent athletic move, take a look at the faces of the Pros on the weekend when they are hitting a full shot.

It is not at all relaxing. And their grips are not light and soft. If they did have a bird in their hands the life expectancy of the bird would be less than a nano second. Sorry!

So, if you have been taught to grip lightly, I am sorry to tell you to forget about it right now.

Need proof? Watch any pro golfer on any weekend on any full swing. See if you can look at their forearms during the swing, best is at setup. You will see the muscles and tendons are very tense, not at all relaxed.

The idea here is to get the grip right because as you progress, your grip will lead you into the magic moves that are required to get to the next level.

The grip is not something that you can afford to take lightly. It is incredible important.

If you do this grip wrong, it is true that you will not be able to do the rest of this swing. One thing depends on another here. You will build your golf swing in increments.

Starting with the grip.

Let us assume that you now have a good grip and you are in an athletic setup position. This is when you are well balanced and you have a reasonable straight back and your butt is slightly in the out position. Your hands hang directly under you shoulders and you chin is slightly up, not laying on your chest.

Your knees are comfortable bent and are directly over the top of your shoes. You are ready to spring in any direction. You are an athlete ready for movement. Ready for action.

You are not just hanging around in a relaxed oh hum manner. This will not work.

So .. now with the club in your hands and a good grip.

Let's push the right hand against the left hand. Just enough to feel pressure, while at the same time using the middle finger and the ring finger of the right hand to pull against the grip of the club.

This is a push / pull action. And it is slight but noticeable. Slight but noticeable. It is not something that an untrained eye would even see or suspect you are doing.

That is part of the reason you won't get this information from too many instructors. It is not because they are holding back on you. It's because it is not an obvious move and it won't show up on any video.

It's a feeling. But absolutely required to help create and maintain the power angles.

Continuing!

And one last feeling, still with the right hand. You should feel some pushing pressure with the right index finger, as if it were a trigger finger on the shafts grip. This is located ( the pressure) on the inside of the index finger just below the interphalangeal joint, or the joint that is in the middle of your finger.

This pressure is also important because it will help you feel the creation of the power angles. And it will help you maintain the angles.

Once you feel this pressure, your job is to remember how it feels and how you created it. This little tidbit of information will also be your key to the knowledge of whether you maintained your power angles or not.

It is the tattler.

It will give you up and let you know that you failed to maintain angles through out the swing. If you lose the feeling you lost the angles.

Now get a club and do this. Do this before you read any more. This is way advanced for most people. It is stuff that you will never hear about on the lesson tee. Or at the range.

But when and if you do this and get it right, you will not believe how much of a difference it makes.

So please, re-read the above, grab a club and try like the dickens to create the feelings. I know it is hard to understand these words and then turn them into feelings, but try.

I also understand and hope you do to, that this is only part of what is going to become a whole concept.

We are building a swing based on solid and time tested techniques. But not necessarily well known.

Ok, here is the key to this grip. Once you have your hands properly on the club, you now will begin to build these feelings described above. And for clarity sake, once again described below.

Start by pushing the right hand bent.

This is pushing against the left hand and allowing the right hand to bend back toward the outside of your right forearm ever so slightly. By the way this is one of the angles and it will increase as you make your moveaway motion into the backswing.

So , for now make sure you push against the left thumb with the inside of your right hand and allow the right hand to bend back. This is not a big move. Slightly is the key word.

At the same time as this is happening, pull slightly with the middle finger and ring finger of your right hand against the grip. This little move will help with the pushing action against the left thumb and it serves to " key in " the grip. Make sure you lock into this feeling.

Last but not least, make sure you feel some pressure against the index finger of the right hand.

Finally you have it. Push right wrist bent, pull with the middle and ringer finger of your right hand and feel a tad of pressure against the index finger of your right hand.

This is not three feelings. It is one feeling with three components.

All done without a single move on your part. Just a little pushing and pulling. Not one single athletic move has occurred. Not one. So anyone, and I mean anyone should be able to do this with not one problem.

Now the fun begins.

You will begin your backswing by turning the middle of your chest to the right, you will take your hands and arms and hence the club with the chest. The chest conducts this movement, not the hands. The hands are like stone in this move.

Turn them into wood if that idea helps. You must turn the chest that will bring the arms and hands along for the ride. This is the hardest part for most people.

It is a very connected move.

The important part is that the hands are dead. The reason for this is that all that pushing and pulling you did with the grip must stay in tack through out the swing. Keep the feeling the whole time, all the way to impact.

So you must not manipulate your hands in any way. Just turn with your chest and bring your arms and hands with it.

Backing up a little. Note the angle that is created as a result of the right wrist being pushed bent. This angle is between the back of the right wrist and the back of your forearm.

Also note the angle between you right forearm and the shaft of the club.

These are the two angles that are your power angles. You have created them by using the proper grip described several times already.

Your objective is to maintain these angles all the way to and through impact.

So turn to as full a backswing as your body allows, do not try to get more than this move lets you have. Frankly shorter is better with this move.

The right hand will have a slightly " trayed " position at the top of your backswing. Make sure that you left hand is not " cupped" back towards the left forearm.

The back of the left hand should be flat at the top. Or in line with it's forearm. No cupped left hand.

There is a very good reason for this. As you do not need to do anything with you hands through out this swing if you have gripped correctly, a cupped left hand will lead to an open clubface and a poor shot.

Or worse it will cause you to intellectually know that something is amiss and you will drift into the land of correction and manipulation, that will kill this swing concept.

You must maintain the angles you created at set up through the entire swing.

Practice this with short chip shots, over and over and over. Get the feelings down pat.

You may be wondering about the release of the clubhead at impact. Good question. The fact is your body will release it for you. You grip has already set it up to happen. That is why the grip and it's associated pushing, pulling and pressure points are so important.

If you just turn your shoulder in the backswing and then turn then into the downswing you will see what I mean. Dead hands. A squared clubface and a solid hit.

Maintain the angles using a little chip shot until you are sure you have established that you know how to create the angles, can feel the needed grip parts and pieces and can turn the whole thing back and forth without manipulating the hands in any way.

The fun part about this swing is that if you want to hit it further, you just turn your shoulders a little faster.

What is even more fun, is that once you learn how to keep the angles, this is the most automated swing you have ever seen and you will hit it as if by magic.

Caution, this move takes practice and patience. It is exactly the swing that many PGA players use. It is simple and repeatable. There is no reason in the world why you can't do it.
Angles = leverage
Leverage = Power
Power = Distance

No angles no leverage
no leverage no power
no power no distance

All good players do two things exactly the same. They have good grips and great angles.

And they keep them both throughout their entire golf swing.

Now you know what they know.

How To Put Backspin on a Ball

We all love it when we hit that shot that draws back quickly 5-10 feet after landing like it was on a string, right?

Well, putting backspin on a ball isn’t easy. You need the proper technique and the right conditions to do it. You also need the right ball. I cover backspin in my golf lessons, and once you know how, you’ll start hitting it closer to that difficult pin placements.

Putting backspin on a golf ball is like putting backspin on a cue ball. To do that you hit downward on the bottom half of the cue ball with significant force. Putting chalk on the stick’s tip, striking the ball at a steep angle, and increasing the velocity of the cue stick as it moves toward impact also helps.

To put backspin on a golf ball, as I explain in my golf tips, you do basically the same thing. But here, the goal is to “pinch” the ball between the club and the fairway. You not only need to hit downward on the ball with a fair amount of force, you also must make clean contact on the lower portion of the ball. It’s essential to have a clean (or new) club with some grip left on its face and a new ball when putting backspin on a ball.

The combination of all these factors—angle of attack, force, and clean contact—puts backspin on the ball. Coordinating all these factors in your swing is why it takes several golf lessons to learn.

You also need certain conditions to do it. Below are the three conditions you need before hitting the shot. If these factors are missing, forget about putting backspin on the ball.

• Conditions must be fairly dry

• You must be on the fairway

• Greens have to be in good shape

I use backspin when I need to hit a pitch-and-stop shot. This type of shot is best used from about 25 to 30 yards away when you have an obstacle— bunker, water, rough, rocks— between you and the green.

Obviously, you can’t hit the ball on the ground or on a line, like a line drive in baseball. You need to hit a high shot over the obstacle. If you put enough backspin on the ball, it takes a bounce or two and stops.

Ideally, you’d like to hit the green about 10 to 15 feet from the pin and stop the ball a few feet from the hole, leaving you a short putt. Of course, if it goes in, that’s even better. If you fail to put enough backspin on the ball, however, it probably will roll off the green, especially if it is slanted or hard-baked.

I recommend using a 9 iron or, better yet, a pitching wedge in my golf tips. The wedge has a high loft, is heavy, and a large flange, which prevents it from digging into the turf. The divot need not be big or deep. Remember to keep your head down until your right arm pushes it up—a fundamental all good golf instruction emphasizes.

I use a high spin/soft cover ball for pitch-and-stop shots and I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the shot. A brief golf lesson on balls explains why.

Golf balls are available with three types of spin. The low spinning golf ball helps eliminate sidespin, which in turn helps reduce the big slice or hook. It doesn’t carry as far as the other types, but it makes up for it with roll. This ball is appropriate for players with high golf handicaps.

The mid-spinning ball fills in the gap between low and high spin balls. It provides more feel than the low spin ball, but doesn’t roll as far, although it travels fairly far. The mid-spin ball also varies depending on the manufacturer. It is better suited for golfers with mid-range golf handicaps.

The high spinning ball gets more carry than the other types of balls, but it won’t roll far when it hits the ground. This ball offers more feel and control, however, than a mid-spin ball, a big advantage around the greens. It’s the added spin that provides the increased control for the player. It’s the type of ball players with low golf handicaps often use.

My golf instruction teaches students to use the ball that’s right for them. If they’re beginners, for example, I recommend a ball with low spin. I also teach students how to put backspin on the ball in my golf lessons, but I emphasize that the conditions on the course must be right for them to try it. Nevertheless, it’s a potent weapon.

Practice improves your ability to put backspin on a golf ball, but keep in mind that the shot is one of the hardest to master in golf so don’t spend the majority of your practice time trying to master this shot.

How To Choose Your Ideal Golf Clubs

A top quality set of golf clubs is essential for the advanced golfer. A complete set of clubs consists of woods, irons and a putter.

The rules of golf, as set forth by the United States Golf Association (USGA), dictate that a golfer'sbag may hold 14 clubs. Most golfers will carry a driver, two fairway woods, 7 irons, 3 wedges and the putter. A driver is a long-shafted club with a full head used to strike the ball that is set upon a tee.

The club head does not have much lift to it, to achieve maximum distance off the tee. The fairway woods have club heads that are slightly more lofted than the driver, and are used for long shots when the ball is lying on the ground.

Most brand name drivers cost between $200 and $400. Fairway woods normally retail from $150 to $300.

Golf irons are the essential part of a set of golf clubs. Two thirds of the shots in a normal round of golf will utilize an iron.

Irons are used to hit the golf ball off the ground from distances of 125 yards to 225 yards. Each iron is assigned a number based upon the loft angle of the club head. The 9-iron has the most loft, and is used to hit short, high shots. A 2-iron has very little loft, and is used to hit low, long shorts.

Wedges are normally included in the purchase of a set of irons. The most common wedges are the pitching wedge, the sand wedge and the lob wedge. These golf clubs are used for short, controlled shots, normally very close to the putting green. Some golfers may choose to remove one of the wedges in lieu of a 2-iron. Also worth noting, there are two primary types of irons available. Forged irons are precision clubs that can give experienced golfers a greater ability to shape their shots.

Gravity-back irons are considered to be more forgiving, with a larger sweet spot and primarily for golfers who want to focus on hitting straight shots. A set of 10 irons can range in price from as little as $250, to as much as $1,500.

The final and perhaps most important golf club, is the putter. The putter is also known as the money club because it is the club used to tap the ball into the hole. The purpose of the putter is to roll the ball, so there is no loft on the club head.

There are many varieties of putters in all shapes and sizes. Some of the putter shafts are so short that the golfer grips it near his knees, and some are so long that they are gripped at the golfer's chest.

Many golfers spend their entire lives changing putters to find the one that feels right for them. Simple putters can cost as little as $20 but some of the more exotic putters can cost as much as $300.

Some players opt to avoid some of the more difficult-to-hit longer irons in favor of higher-lofted "fairway" woods and extra "utility" wedges. In part, this reflects a pattern of design of clubs in which club manufacturers have reduced the lofts of the irons so that they can be used from longer distances.

In effect, today's 3-iron has a loft that is equivalent to a 2-iron of years ago.

Why Tiger Woods' Golf Swing Technique Is So Effective

Golf sensation Tiger Woods’ golf swing technique has been the subject of many interesting studies.

One thing that has come out very clearly from this leading golfer’s style and his golf swing technique is his amazing flexibility and high fitness level which have contribute tremendously to his golf career. A career that has seen him crowned in the minds of many as the undisputed greatest golfer in the history of the sport.

The Tiger Woods golf swing technique sees Wood utilizing his flexibility at the back of his swing to comfortably reach far back.

As he begins his swing, his level of fitness and muscle strength enables him to build up club head velocity by turning his torso quickly and pressing his right leg forward. There is minimal waste of energy as he maintains his position above the golf ball.

Driving through, Woods uses his hips, shoulders and wrists to concentrate his force and create a high initial ball speed. Research has shown that within a few feet off the tee, the ball is usually traveling at about 180 miles per hour. The average tour pro usually manages only 160 miles per hour.

If you have carefully watched woods and his golf swing technique, you will note that he usually allows the club head’s momentum to extend his follow-through far around his back, thus completing a long and smooth club-head rotation.

Tiger Woods golf swing technique cannot possibly be achieved by somebody who is not physically fit or somebody who does not work out regularly. In fact achieving an effective golf swing technique these days requires conditioned muscles that will enable you to perform consistently and at your best.

Gone are the days when golf was viewed as a leisure sport where players would move around the course in electric golf cars to avoid breaking into a sweat of any kind.

This is not to say that a good golf swing technique calls for rigorous golf strength exercising and golf stretching. Actually, most of the critical golf-specific exercises involve stretches. There is also the lifting of light weights to build specifically on strength rather than muscle.

Clearly golf-specific exercises are the only way to develop good golf swing technique.

Essential Information on Choosing the Best Golf Clubs to Suit Your Game

Most golfers, whether a beginner or a pro, struggle when trying to decide which golf club to buy. The buying process becomes easier when the consumer has a good understanding of the types of golf clubs available and their specific use. Your playing (and thus your staying) power is greatly enhanced by choosing the proper golf clubs.

For the novice golfer, the basic set of golf clubs consists of drivers, wedges, putters and irons. Using the proper type of golf club will help the beginner learn quickly and achieve results. Each different type of club is designed to help with swing speed and to correct faults to improve your game ? and your score.

In addition to clubs, a wide variety of accessories are also available, many of which are necessities and others that are ?just for looks.? One absolute necessity is a golf bag to assist you or your caddy in moving from green to green, and of course, golf balls. Another must is a pair of golf shoes to help stabilize your body so you can achieve the perfect swing. Other accessories include golf gloves, a golf cap, clothing, and covers for your golf clubs to protect them from the elements or while stored.

There are many variations in the types and styles of golf clubs and their uses. For example, if you?re trying to make a shorter shot, irons may be your best bet. Irons are usually available in sets that include several different sizes. You must also take into consideration the style, size, and type of material used to make the golf club shaft. One of the less expensive materials is steel. Clubs with a steel shaft weigh more but can be longer-lasting than other types. The steel shaft may also give you more control over those fast swings. If you choose a graphite shaft, it will be lighter than steel but will be more costly. This type of club is used for long distance shots or for slower swingers.

Most golf clubs are available with both steel and graphite shafts.

The flexibility of a shaft is referred to as flex, or bend. The less the bend in a shaft, the more control the powerful swinger will have. On the other hand, beginners and those with less powerful swings generally use a shaft with greater flexibility. The average swing speed is from 65 miles per hour for the beginner up to over 100 miles per hour for powerful swingers.

The goal when buying golf clubs should be to own the best golf clubs you can afford, whether they are name brands, used, or a reproduction of one of the name brands. Golf clubs can be purchased at many different types of establishments such as discount stores, buying clubs, specialty shops, catalogs, or the Internet, which offers an almost limitless variety of clubs and bargains, including used golf clubs. The cost of the golf club depends on the type and where it is purchased. Retail stores and catalogs have pre-season, post-season and regular sales, but since someone, somewhere, has the perfect climate in which to play golf at any given time of the year, you may find it difficult to find a true bargain. Internet shopping offers excellent prices throughout the year, and in many cases shipping is free. Golf club replicas are very good bargains if you compare their features to the originals. Many, many types of merchandise are duplicated, or cloned, so be sure the set of clubs you buy have not been illegally duplicated.

Most anytime is the perfect time for most golfers and ?wannabe? golfers to play, so take advantage of the large variety of clubs and bargains to be found, and don?t wait another day to start buying your golf clubs.

Golf Fitness - What Every Golfer Should Know About Golf Fitness

Golf fitness differs from traditional strength training. Golf fitness consists of exercises that are specific to the sport of golf and is especially designed to increase increasing your flexibility, strength, balance and endurance.

A smooth, fluid golf swing requires a high degree of flexibility. However, as the years take their toll on our bodies, staying flexible becomes more difficult. Exercises that increase flexibility are worth pursuing because there are lots of great reasons to stay flexible that don't have anything to do with golf.

The best way to increase flexibility is through stretching exercises. Don't expect amazing results from a casual stretch whenever you happen to think about it. Develop a specific stretching routine that you do on a regular basis.

Adding muscle strength to your new-found flexibility will add distance to your drives. Strength and flexibility in your upper body make it possible for you to swing the club faster, produce a higher club head speed and ultimately drive the ball to new distance records.

Strength training for golf fitness doesn't necessarily mean you need to lift refrigerators. A great golf swing needs power that is more explosive in nature. You should look for exercises that have a high rate of force development (RFD).

The real secret behind a powerful golf swing is not how strong you are, but is more about how fast you can deploy that strength and how quickly you can accelerate the golf club.

If you have trouble keeping your balance, then strength and flexibility won't do you much good. The best way to ensure that you can stay centered over the ball is to work on developing better balance.

Good balance also helps you make better shots from difficult lies, like the edge of a bunker or a steep grade in the rough. Your golf swing plane will also be much more consistent when you are hitting from a more stable posture.

This is where exercises that focus on your core strength and lower back can work wonders.

Golf fitness could help you play some of your best golf ever. Wouldn't it be a shame if you can't last 18 holes? A full round of 18 holes can be brutal in the summer heat. Some days, it can be hard to maintain your performance for even nine holes.

And what if you vacation at a golf resort and play every day? What are the most effective exercises to build endurance? Cardio, cardio and more cardio. One reason cardiovascular exercises help with endurance is their ability to reduce overall body fat.

Time on the treadmill, elliptical trainer or stair climber is time well spent in the gym. Walking or jogging in your neighborhood can accomplish the same results.

Professional golfers know the value of golf fitness and make it part of their training schedule. Amateurs like you and me probably don't have that kind of time in our week. When lack of time to exercise is an issue, then it's important to make every workout count.

More time spent at the gym will translate into lower scores, fewer injuries and more enjoyment on the golf course.

Golf Workouts Will Increase Your Golf Swing Speed And Distance

I’m sure by now you’ve heard most of the professional players; both men and women actively participate in golf workouts. It’s no secret. But why then do most amateur golfers ignore this? Is it because it seems like work? Or, does the thought of actually breaking a sweat get you tired already?

Vijay Singh Does Golf Workouts

Either way…the proof is in the bag. The number one player in the world, Vijay Singh, does his golf workouts all the way through Sunday of each tournament. Does it look like it’s hurting his game? I don’t think so. Back in 1997, a young, very athletic golfer came on the professional scene and blew everyone away. I think you know who I’m talking about.

Tiger Woods Golf Workout Routine

Tiger took golf to another level. A real eye-opener for the veteran players who were hitting the 19th hole after every round…and the last thought on their mind was “exercise”. What a wake-up call to be totally dominated by a player who was only 20 years old at the time.

Annika Sorenstam Credits Her Golf Exercises

How about the year Annika Sorenstam shot a 59 and totally dominated the LPGA? Do you know what she attributes it to? Golf workouts! She hired a trainer and got serious about her fitness. And look what happened? She hasn’t looked back since. She just recently came out with an instruction book and devoted a chapter to golf workouts.

To my recollection, that’s the first women’s instruction book to include golf workouts. Working out to playing better golf isn’t just for the guys; Annika has proved that. Now more LPGA players are working out to try and catch her, just like the guys did with Tiger.

Senior Golfers Now Do Golf Fitness Programs

How about the senior tour? Now players are realizing they can still make good money, even after they’ve turned 50 and can’t really compete with the young guys anymore. With the money at stake, they too are all working out. This group of players both amateur and pro is the biggest demographic that needs it the most.

With age comes a decline in both flexibility and strength. When the body declines, the swing goes right along with it. The result is a big loss in yardage, more mishits, and ballooning scores. The end result…frustration! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve played with and received phone calls from older golfers who are just about ready to quit the game.

They are SO frustrated at this rapid decline, that golf’s not fun anymore. But there is hope. The answer? Get your body moving just a little better. How? By participating in workouts for golf program that focuses on golf-specific strength AND flexibility. It’s amazing to see golfers in this age bracket dramatically improve their driving distance, accuracy and scores.

You don’t have to accept that with age, your body declines. No way! You’ve got to fight it all the way! I’m dead serious. The ones who do, are the ones who are enjoying the game again and taking all the money in their foursome.

What Is A Golf Workout

What is a golf workout anyways? Is there such a thing? You bet there is. The golf swing is an awkward movement that puts a tremendous amount of stress on the body. To prevent injury and improve swing speed and distance requires your body to be both strong and flexible specific to the swing.

I could spend dozens of pages describing what this entails, but for the sake of this concise article, let’s keep it simple.

Golf Is Rotational

The golf swing is a rotational movement, with your body in golf posture. Slight flex of the knees and a bending forward at the hips. Since the golf swing is primarily rotational, wouldn’t it make sense to focus on rotational strength and flexibility? That is improving your turning ability related to range of motion and speed.

So anything involving twisting with resistance such as a medicine ball, a dumbbell, or even a weighted club would work. You need to have a resistance to take your body beyond where it normally goes.

For instance, if you took a club and placed it behind your neck, got in your golf posture and rotated back and forth; do you think that by itself would improve your range of motion or power?

Use A Weighted Golf Club

No, you need to add resistance to accomplish this. Take a weighted club and make golf swings. Now you’ll be making a bigger turn AND improving your power. Same thing with a medicine ball. Make turns back and through holding a 4 to 6 pound ball and you’ll see a BIG improvement.

In fact, most of your abdominal work should be rotational. Doing straight crunches won’t improve your driving distance. Doing rotational movements with added weight will. This is where I could go on and on, but I won’t overload you.

Golf Workouts Will Transform Your Golf Swing

I hope I’ve convinced you to take a real serious look at what all the other successful professional players are doing to stay at the top of their game. Doing golf workouts can and will dramatically change your game forever. Now get out there and get it started. No procrastinating. Do it right now!

A Golf Stretch Can Quickly Increase Your Driving Distance By Up To 30 Yards

If you want to rapidly improve your golf, stretch your golfing muscles on a consistent basis!

What’s the difference main between a “golf stretch” and an everyday stretch? The answer to this question may be your missing link to a great game and years of enjoyment instead of frustration and weak attempts at quitting the game.

I know…you’ve considered it! I’ve been there many times. But the bottom line…we keep coming back!

So to end the years of frustration and quickly transform your game, you need to do golf stretches daily. Yes, that’s right…daily!

It will only take you a few minutes to get them done, but the improvement in your game will be quick and dramatic. The return on this investment (of time) is well worth it.

Now which golf stretches to do to get the quickest return?

That’s a personal issue. Everyone has different limitations. Some are backswing related, others are follow through or even maintaining your golf posture.

Below I’m going to list a couple of golf stretches that will help you prevent back pain and increase your backswing range of motion for longer drives.

The first golf stretch is the Lying Leg Crossover:

• Lie on back with legs extended.

• Raise one leg and bend at knee to 90 degrees in knee and hip.

• Cross that leg over extended leg, while opposite shoulder stays on ground.

• Go until slight pull in butt and lower back.

• Hold for 15 seconds and repeat once more.

• Switch legs and do opposite side.

This simple golf stretch will not only make your back feel better, but it will improve your ability to make a bigger turn, with less hip movement, creating torque and energy.

The second golf stretch is the Backswing Stretch:

• Extend left arm out in front of you (if you are a right handed golfer).

• Take right hand and put under left wrist.

• Pull with right hand against left wrist and make as big a turn on back swing as possible.

• Hold for at least 15 seconds, repeat once more and do the opposite for arm for your follow thru side.

This simple golf stretch will loosen up the muscles in the back of your shoulders and your upper back (lats), for more freedom on both your backswing and follow through.

Do these two golf stretches daily and watch your game improve quickly.

Note: These are only 2 golf stretches isolating certain areas of the body. To get the full benefit for your golf game, you need to do golf stretches for each muscle group.

How to Eliminate Your Golf Slice Quickly and Easily

Here's a really good tip that may help you to get rid of your slice. Best of all, it's really pretty simple once you get the hang of it, and understand why it's being used.

Chances are that you have battled with a slice at some point in your golfing days. To be completely direct with you, dealing with a slice really sucks. It hurts your golf game in many more ways than one.

Luckily, it's fairly easy to fix. I cannot claim that this small tip will completely cure your slice, but there's a good chance that it will. I hope it does.

First off, please understand that when you come into the impact zone, there are really only 2 factors that can determine the "shape" of ball flight.

1. The angle of the club face at impact.

2. The Path the club is taking at impact.

So, here's a few things you should concentrate on.

Try to keep your leading shoulder "down" on the ball through impact. This is called staying strong through impact. Many times the leading shoulder (left shoulder if right handed) flies up before impact. Now just for a minute, think about what that does to the club head when it's in the impact zone.

Get up from the computer and actually go though the motions slowly. Let your leading shoulder fly up as you approach impact and you'll actually be able feel and see the clubface coming from an outside-in path. That’s the cause of the slice you are battling.

See, golf is all about thinking and analyzing your shots to get better. A huge part of this game is understanding "why" you're getting a certain result, and the physics behind that result. Thinking through your golf swing will provide huge dividends if you're willing to invest the time it takes.

So what can you do to correct that flying shoulder? Well, for starters, try to learn to keep your leading shoulder strong. Keep that shoulder "Down" on the ball all the way through impact, even after the ball is gone and flying straight down the fairway.

So, after impact the leading shoulder is still down. The triangle between your shoulders and chest is still present. Most importantly, the body has NOT gotten ahead of the hands. This is a HUGE distinction. As you may notice, the left shoulder is actually higher than the right shoulder. So what do I mean when I say "leading shoulder down"?

You have to envision yourself from the back looking down on the ball. When I say "down", I mean that the leading shoulder and chest is still facing the ball through impact.

So even though it may seem like the leading shoulder is higher than the trailing shoulder, it's still facing the ball at impact. NOT TOWARDS THIRD BASE in comparison to the ball. If your leading shoulder was facing towards third base at impact, which would mean that you have let the leading shoulder fly up.

Furthermore, hand action is huge in this game. You must learn to release your hands correctly through the ball. This means that you release the hands while the leading shoulder is still "down", or facing the ball.

The key is to let your arms release through the ball, while your left shoulder is "Down" on the ball. To do this you will need to rotate your forearms correctly, and use your leading ELBOW (not shoulder) as a hinge. So another way to explain this movement would be that your hands are still moving towards the target, but your leading elbow has almost stopped.

Keep the leading shoulder down and let your arms and hands release through the ball and you will see the ball go farther and higher. This will take a while to get used to, but once it clicks, the results will be outstanding.

Golf iron tips: do this one thing and watch your iron game improve dramatically

I've seen advice from golf experts that say that the way to a better game is through practicing your iron shots and getting really good at them. I'm sorry but I just don't buy it. I'm going to give you some excellent golf iron tips that will just about cover the basics for you. But I still say you should spend a greater amount of energy (and time if you have it) on improving your chipping and pitching game.

As with most of my articles, I must disagree with most conventional golf advice in this area too. I can't tell you how many times I've heard that we have to go out to the range and begin by swinging our pitching wedge and then the sand wedge, then the 9-iron, and on up. With each of these irons, hitting a bunch of balls until we feel good about that iron.

Well, what if you don't feel good about one particular iron? Are you supposed to just keep hammering away with it until the bucket runs out? What good does that do you anyway? The way I see it, all you'll be doing is getting frustrated and injecting doubt into your game. Hardly anybody can pull out their irons and hit them all well as they work through their bag and a bucket of balls.

Forgettaboutit!

My number 1 of all Golf iron tips- The next time you have time to hit balls on the range or into a net or just playing around in your backyard, here's what you should do: Get inside your head and pretend you are playing a round without any woods! Play a course in your head only with your irons. Never hit the same iron twice in a row because you rarely do that on a course right?

Don't do anything in a practice swing that you wouldn't do on a course. Your mind will get all confused and you'll fall into the trap of being a good practice golfer but a lousy playing golfer.

You want to score on the course, not look good on the range.

As the Anti-practice expert, I am usually going to give you a different way to do things that has a far faster return in improvement at the average golfer level of skill. You must know by now that most golf instruction out there is geared toward the better player. Why instructors do that when most players are average, I can't figure it out for the life of me.

This is probably the best of all the golf iron tips and it's so easy to do. To make it even more powerful, the next time you go out for a fun, friendly round with nothing riding on it, leave your woods at home. That's right, I'm not kidding.

Now, most of you reading this are going to say, "C'mon, I don't want to do that." Listen, I'm telling to just do it once if nothing else. You will be surprised at how fun it is to think your way around a course. You will turbo charge your long iron game like you can't believe for the rest of the season if you just do this for one round.

You will start to teach yourself strategic golf that will come in very handy your next round with all of your clubs. And besides, you'll probaby keep the ball in the fairway the whole time. No out of bounds or lost ball will make up for any lack of distance on long shots, you'll see.

Something will happen at the cellular level that you won't be able to explain...but your scorecard will.

Do it!

Improve Your Golf Swing And Better Your Golf Score

There are steps you can take to achieve your best golf swing. First, your goal is to find your natural swing, what I mean by that is, don't put forth any effort when hitting the ball. When your mind and body are in sync your swing will be as simple as closing your eyes.

To find your natural power start by trying to keep your hands “soft” throughout the swing, leave the club at the top of your backswing for as long as you possibly can. “Soft hands” is keeping your muscles supple from your elbows through your fingers, trying this will promote a quicker and snappier release through impact of the clubface and the ball.

By leaving the club at the top, it will feel much more natural. When you get your body set at the top of your back-swing and make sure you keep the club at the top, this will allow you to begin the downswing with your thigh and leg muscles, which are much larger and more powerful than your hands. By driving the downswing with the body instead of with just your hands, you can create some serious lag. It will release when your club head comes in contact with the ball.

These two methods will help you see that effortless swings are the secret to more distance. People generally make the mistake of seeing the target and feeling that they have to use more strength to achieve the distance, which in turn makes you feel like you have to use more muscle, this is a misconception.

Trying too hard can cause a lot of discouragement. Golf could then easily become more of a chore than a game that is played for enjoyment. They may start to wonder at this point, why they even started the game to begin with. Golf is meant to be relaxing, and when it is played right, it is great for you, physically and mentally. If a person could just close their eyes and just swing they could understand why golf is such an enjoyment.

Would you like to get paid for playing golf ?

Learning the basics of playing golf for free is very simple. As a means of getting you started, I will give you a few quick ideas right now on getting your golf game for free. It is not as difficult as you might think and you do not necessarily have to be a celebrity to enjoy this benefit.

First of all, you can become a professional golf 'Escort'. This method is not new to the average golfer. You can actually play golf for free doing something that businessmen and women do every day. This is one of the ways that you can actually get paid to play golf every day. If it pleases you, you can use this method as a full time business.

Golf is becoming one of the most important and most profitable sports in the world right now. This is a trend that excellent golfers like Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia have helped spur on. Young golfers like them have ushered in a brand new era of young golfers, and with them a great deal more popularity.

Did you know for instance, that around 40% of all of the money that is spent on sports in the United States is given to golf? It's true; in fact, golf has become so popular that businesses across the world are using golf as a marketing tool

What this means is that businesses also have a responsibility to make golf more entertaining for the golfers that are playing. Today's businessmen don't really have time to play a few games with their clients like they used to. The days when business people played a few holes for their high end clients are gone. This is where the professional golf escort comes in handy.

How many times have you heard or seen someone say that they like to mull over their business decisions over a game of golf? This is quite common, however today's business person often have enough on their plates just conducting business.

Golf is just something that they don't have time for. This market is gigantic in the business world because as so many decisions are made over a game of golf, so business people need someone who can spend the time in the day to play the game.

That's where you come in. How it works is that these businesses will hire you to play the golf games with their clients when they can't do it. Not only will you get to play golf on the business' dime, but you will actually get paid to do it.

Why would someone pay me to golf?

You may be wondering why anyone would go to such lengths as to pay someone else to play a game or two of golf every day. That is very easy to answer. Below I have listed the most common reasons why these companies will pay you to play golf for them.

1. Since so many business people's time is very valuable, they simply can't spend the time in the day that is needed to entertain their clients with golf games. This is a very common practice today and is also a great way for the businesses to ensure that their clients are happy while still having the free time they need to conduct every day business in the office.

2. Many business people hire escorts because they just don't know how to play golf themselves. This is another time when you can capitalize from it. Many of the executives that can't play the game do not want to be embarrassed and therefore will simply outsource instead.

3. The other reason why they are willing to pay for your golfing services is because although the executive might know how to play golf and may even have the time for it, they may simply just not be very good at it. That may leave their client feeling bored during the game and therefore take away from the fun for them.

These things having been said, you may have a better idea as to why companies are willing to pay someone like you to play the game for them. You can make a pretty penny from this.

If You've Hit Your Golf Driver Perfectly Once, You Can Do It Every Time

Picture yourself standing on the tee box of your favorite short 4 par. You've got your driver in hand. This hole is designed with risk-reward written all over it. If you hit it long and straight, you can get very near or maybe on the green with your driver to set up for an easy birdie. If you mis-hit it, you are looking at hazards or o/b and a balloon score.

You know the correct play here is to pull out an iron and lay up for a 100 yard shot to the green, but you just can't bring yourself to do it. You say to yourself, "What the heck, I'm going for it".

Because, after all is said and done, the idea behind playing golf is to have fun and if taking chances on the golf course and sometimes beating the odds is your idea of fun, who's to say that you are wrong about that? Myself, I'm more interested in playing for score than going for broke, but hey, that's just me. I will support anyone anytime who wants to go for the difficult tee shot with the possibility of pulling off an unbelievable shot as long as they are willing to gracefully accept the consequences of missing it .

What's the point to all of that? THE DRIVER IS KING of the golf bag! Driving the golf ball long and straight is the holy grail of almost all amateur golfers. Some will even leave a golf course happier if they were satisfied with the way they hit their driver than if they had a great score. Yet, we are constantly reminded of the old saying:

"Drive for show, and putt for dough"

Greg Norman disputes this old saw by saying in his book SHARK ATTACK: "Don't ever sell me on that line. If you can't put your tee-shot in play, the smoothest stroke in the world won't help you enough. To my mind, the most important shot in golf is the drive".

Do you feel better now? I do, because he isn't the only one who has made these types of remarks about driving. Furthermore if you really think about it, the importance of the driver and getting off the tee safely with some distance is probably greater for higher handicappers than the better golfers as the larger portion of their shots are spent in just getting to the green.

So what can we do about it short of another set of golf lessons? Plenty! Start off by getting a new driver, plain and simple. The new technology is light years ahead of the #1 wood of just 3 years ago.

Also, we must be able to direct our mind so that our brain and muscles are in sync and harmony in successfully pulling off this very violent of sports acts with the driving tool.

How to do all of that?

We must first understand how our DESIRE to hit this little white golf ball is translated into the correct contractions of muscles in a timing sequence that moves the driving club in the direction that will contact the ball squarely and with great force to achieve the outcome we want.

It's not that complicated. We are beings uniquely capable of original thought that comes from what we call our conscious mind. We create a thought there that is then communicated to our subconscious mind to make the act happen. What? Our subconscious mind makes the driver hit the ball? Yes! Here's proof:

The last time you rode a bike, did you have to say words to yourself to get your leg to push on the pedal? Did you have to tell yourself that you now have to balance yourself with a thousand small muscles all acting independently? Did you have to tell your left arm muscles to contract and your right arm muscles to release contraction in order to make a left turn? Of course not! You just thought very quickly with your conscious mind what you wanted to do and then it turned the accomplishment of that desire over to the subconscious mind. The subconscious then made it all happen.

This is no small feat to send a zillion electrical impulses out in a precise order in order to cause another zillion muscle fibers to contract or relax at the perfect time. This is the wonder of our bio-computer called the BRAIN.

So, what about all that golf advice about setup, position at the top, swing checkpoints, follow-through, etc? This is what you probably thought you would be reading about right? Folks, it's all good, however, it's sometimes too much for us to handle and causes us "paralysis by analysis". We need to work a plan that will give us maximum return for minimum effort and time. Most of us just don't have the time to go practice the multitude of advice we have been given on the swing and that is the only way you are going to improve if using a mechanical approach to improvement. A better, more time-efficient system, is a MENTAL one:

Remember this:

"The quality of our golf game is determined by the quality of our communication with ourselves."

Our subconscious mind controls all of our involuntary (don't have to think about) functions like breathing and heart rate but it also runs extremely complicated physical motions as long as it has been taught how. Hitting the driver is at the height of complication for the golf swing since we are expecting maximum force and speed coupled with keeping precision. After all, we could have pretty good precision when we have a 1-foot putt right? And we can lift our heaviest weight when we aren't concerned with whether or not we are going to drop it or not. We intuitively know that the harder we exert force on something, the less precision we have in that act. When using the driver in our golf game, we must realize a few key points in order to maximize our efficiency on the tee box.

1. The subconscious mind is the expert at swinging the driver, not the conscious.

If we have hit a great drive in the past, then our subconscious mind knows how to do it again. It knows the correct number and sequence of muscle contractions and nerve impulses required to repeat that great drive. All that is required is a clear communication of the desire to the subconscious mind. This is achieved with visualization prior to the actual swing.

2. The conscious mind tends to get in the way and must be given something to do to keep busy so that it doesn't interfere with the subconscious mind's work.

Once the desire has been communicated, you should think something simple during the swing like maybe singing a song or, a simple count of the actions of the swing as they are happening (ie 1.backswing, 2.top of swing, 3. forward motion, etc.). Or continue with the visualization of the ball flying exactly as you planned it in the middle of the swing. Or, you may be able to utilize self-hypnosis and concentrate directly and solely on that ball to put yourself in a zone-like state for the duration of the swing. Many golfers do this without even knowing it but it can be developed further with knowledge and effort in this area. (my website has free ebook on this).

3. There is a point of exertion of force on the driver that if we go beyond it, then our probability of keeping our precision is drastically reduced.

This falls under the Law of Diminishing Returns and is best explained by this analogy: how many cooks can you put in a kitchen before they start bumping into one another and actually start reducing their output as that number is exceeded. This point is different for everyone, but, most importantly: This point is at LESS FORCE than you think for most golfers who have trouble with their driver. In other plain terms...hit it solid first and then harder second.

Everything written thus far was with the intent of convincing you of this inescapable fact of hitting the driver. If you aren't convinced, then you won't take action. The actions required don't take any of your time but they do require consistent effort throughout your day. Golf is unforgiving to the lazy person but generous to the focused one.

So, make every effort this month, or this week if you have an upcoming round you want to get ready for and repeat to yourself (communicate with your subconscious mind) that you first and foremost always hit the driver square and on the sweet spot.

Say it to yourself at least one hundred or so times in a week (this is a lot easier to do than you are thinking right now). Picture in your mind what it would look like, how it would feel to have your drives go straight every single time. Zoom in on your driver about to make contact with the ball in your mental movies. Do this everywhere, anytime, but especially before falling asleep. Keep doing it on a consistent basis. Isn't that what we are striving for in golf - consistency? We have to build it into our way of thinking for it to happen out on the course.

There are many ways to effectively communicate with your subconscious mind. Basic affirmations and visualizations just described is the simplest. Once your subconscious accepts the idea as internal truth (and it must if you are persistent in convincing it), you will see dramatic improvement off the tee.

Virtually every athlete strives to have the highest score. If you're a golfer, though, you'll do just about anything to bring your score as low as possible. The rules may be different in the game of golf, but the competitive spirit is just as fierce.

It takes more than hard work to lower your golf score. You also need the desire and drive to become a better golfer, and you need to be willing to practice until you've reached your potential. With a clear plan of action and a true desire to be better, you will become a more successful golfer and you will lower your score.

* Swing into Action

A really good golfer will be able to effectively combine mental skill with athletic ability. After all, golf truly is a game of wits. When you are able to improve your feelings and perceptions of the sport, your personal game will improve and you'll be able to lower the scores on your card. Evolving into a better player starts with having a positive attitude.

* Practice What You Putt

Avid golfers will tell you that any time is the perfect time to putt. Take the time to practice whenever you have a spare moment. Pick up a portable putting green and practice your putt at home and at the office. Take the kids for a game of mini-putt. With repeat practice you'll be able to gain control over your putter and, ultimately, control over the ball. Extra efforts today will bring improved skills that you'll appreciate over time. Practice whenever, and wherever, you can.

* Understand the Green

Your knowledge of the terrain can make or break your game. Know the greens, the traps and the fairways. Play with different clubs until you're sure which ones work best in each situation. Be ready for any situation and you will be able to overcome any challenges that come your way. Understand the green and you'll be on top of your game.

* Embrace Criticism

You can be a great golfer but, sooner or later, you'll play with someone that's a little better. Consider this a golden opportunity. Experienced golfers are often happy to share their skills and knowledge, so don't be afraid to ask for tips. If he or she offers a little constructive criticism, don't be afraid to acknowledge your shortcomings. A willingness to improve your weak areas is the only way to strengthen your personal game. Welcome the advice of more seasoned athletes. Use it to solve your problems and you'll get the edge you need to be a better golfer.

* Stay Cool

No one likes a showoff; so don't let yourself get too cocky. It's OK to celebrate your own victories, but don't come across as arrogant if you are playing a great game. You can be proud of your efforts and your success, just be sure to keep your ego in check. The potential to earn a great golf score is little consolation if no one wants to play with you.

You can ask the pros, watch the videos and read the books, but all of the tricks, tips and advice mean nothing if you don't practice. Apply the bits of wisdom you collect to the game you play. When you do hit the green be sure to relax and have fun. Don't forget, golf is really just a game.

Professional Golf Swings

To watch a professional's golf swing is to watch a thing of beauty. The difference between most weekend warriors and a professional is the pro knows every aspect of their swing.

A professional golf swing takes years upon years to hone. A professional will practice the motion of their swing daily. They need to practice so much because, unlike most of us, they need to know their clubs, the distance of each club and what each type of swing will do for them. The professional can take a 5 iron, turn the face of the club 1/16 of an inch, then take a three 1/4 swing and know that the ball is going 220 yards with a slight fade.

A pro has a consistence swing. They have a pre-shot routine that they will do every time. Most get their club from their caddy. Put their grip on the club, most pros use an overlapping grip. They will then stand behind the ball, this gives them time to focus and get a mental picture of the shot they want to use.

Once they have committed to the shot, they will come to the side of the ball and take a practice swing or two. At this point, they are not trying to think about or change anything in their swing. They are just trying to "feel" the shot.

They are now ready to pull the trigger. They get their proper stance, which is critical. If your stance is off, so is your balance, which, in turn, will give you less club head speed, diminishing your distance. They take the club back on line. They will have a large arc from the beginning of the swing to the top of the back swing by keeping their hands as far away from their body as possible. At the top of the swing they will have "loaded" the swing. The left foot remains flat on the ground, the weight has now gathered to the right heel. The right knee is still flexed. The left shoulder is turned under the chin. The wrists are cocked. All the while keeping the head still. The clubface is square at the top. (Description is for the right handed, reverse for lefties.)

The down swing begins with a weight shift, back to the left. The club comes down, then through the line. When starting down, the wrists are still cocked. They will then unload everything, perfectly timed, at the bottom of their swing. The ball has no choice but to go and go far.

Any pro will tell you that practice is the most important thing you can do to acquire a repeatable swing. There are no short cuts to getting a professional golf swing. They practice; they analyze every aspect, and every inch of their swing. They also get a lot of help from their instructors and caddies. If you are going to try to emulate a professional's golf swing, make sure you pick one who is similar to your body type.

Free Golf Swing Tip

Golf swing tips are now almost everywhere. On the tv, surfing the internet, or in your favority magazine you can find a free golf tip from someone. Not to mention your pals who are ready to offer you a free golf swing tip whenever you are looking for one. Online golf tips are quickly becoming the information source of choice for golfers, the information age has made it easier then ever to get the answer.

So the question we need to ask ourselves is, does a free golf swing tip give us the help we need or send us on a wild goose chase? If you spend some time researching you'll find that some free golf swing tips are better left alone. Because not all free tips are created equal some professionals and instructors suggest it's best for golfers to just ignore any free swing tips.

You should evaluate what the free golf swing tip is asking you to do. For instance a tip telling you to swing at the ball with all your strength is seriously incorrect.

Some golfers are seen doing just that how ever, attacking the ball with such strength it's almost impossible they won't injure themselves at the same. Another improper tip is to twist over the wrists in an effort to increase the club head speed right before contact is made with the ball. Like the last free golf swing tip mentioned twisting of the wrists is likely to cause injury as well.

The right free golf swing tip will help develop the correct exercises and techniques that condition the golfers body to do the work rather then just b. A genuine free golf swing tip should increase strength in the golf muscles, leading to better results.

Particular free golf swing tips will help build more strength and power in your swing, helping you play a better game over time. Any free golf swing tip that emphasizes this point is bound to be genuine and may have a positive effect on your golf swing.

One thing that free golf swing tips do, is help the golfer thing more about your swing mechanics rather then just focusing on driving the ball hundreds of yards into the fairway, or dropping it in the cup on the green.

Of course it's difficult to know if the person supplying you with the free golf swing tips is a genuine instructor or pro. Of course there is no better way to determine this then to use your own judgment before you begin to learn a new technique or practice a new drill. Everyone has an opinion on how a proper golf swing should be done, as well as what technique or drill you should be practicing to increase your drive.

3 Simple Golf Tips To Quickly Improve Your Distance

Every golfer wants to know the secret golf tip to improve their distance. The secret, is there is NO secret. It’s common sense, and treating golf like a sport. The golf swing is not for the weak and feeble anymore.

Any golf tips you hear to improve distance should somehow be directly or indirectly related to the physical side of the golf swing. I mean…don’t you think the swing puts a tremendous amount of pressure on your body, especially your lower back?

To alleviate this pain and quickly improve your distance takes strength and stretching, specific to your body and your golf swing.

So the quick fixes (band aides) you hear in all the magazines and on the golf channel are short-term fixes. You won’t be able to consistently duplicate it until you improve your physical limitations.

So let’s get to these simple, yet valuable tips.

Tip #1:

Perform a dynamic warm-up prior to the first tee. Don’t ever skip it. It is more important than hitting balls before you play. How many times do you see a professional athlete go on the field and start playing? Never. That’s my point.

A Simple Warm-Up could be some arm circles, toe touches, squats with your club, and standing twists holding the club out in front of you chest high.

That’s it! Simple yet very effective to prepare your body for that LONG drive on the first tee.

Tip #2

Stretching on the course will keep your body nice and loose to make that FULL backswing, generating high clubhead speed and consistently LONG drives. There are just a few KEY stretches specific to your swing, that can keep your body relaxed for 18 holes.

One stretch I’ll tell you is the backswing/shoulder stretch. It’s a very simple stretch that will maintain a full and fluid backswing.

All you do is get in your golf posture, with your arms hanging naturally in front of you. For a right-handed golfer, you would take your right hand underneath your left, so the back of both hands are touching each other.

Now gently apply pressure from the back of your right hand against your left and pull your upper body all the way in your backswing and hold. Hold it for 15 seconds and repeat once more.

This stretch should be done on almost every hole to get the most out of it.

Tip #3

Improve your core strength and rotational speed. This one is done “off the course”, and can even be done in your home with minimal equipment. Now this is just one tip (exercise) of many you can do to dramatically explode your drives “on the course”.

Since the simple golf swing is a turn back and a turn through, it is rotational in nature. Then why wouldn’t you do many exercises to improve your rotational strength and flexibility?

If you’re serious about your game, you will now!

One simple golf exercise is the Seated Twist with a dumbbell. It’s very easy and can be done with a 5 or 8 pound dumbbell.

While sitting on the ground, grab a single dumbbell with both hands and hold it out in front of you.

Now lean back putting tension on the abs. Your legs will be bent at a 90 degree angle in the knee, and together.

Start rotationg side to side, only with your upper body. Try keeping your lower body as stable as possible.

You will do 3 sets of 20 repetitions to get the full benefit of the exercise. Again, this is just ONE exercise of many that will strengthen your rotational muscles of your core.

I’ve just showed you 3 quick and easy golf tips to dramatically increase your distance. Now go out and make it happen!

How To Achieve A Better Golf Swing With The Target Technique!

Achieving a better golf swing takes practice coupled with good technique. That sounds pretty simple doesn't it? Trouble with most social golfers who aspire to a better game is by the time they get around to learning some golfing technique, they've reached a stage where they have consigned themselves to immortal mediocrity!

Are you in this category or are you just interested in achieving a better golf swing? Believe me I was in the former category at one stage and I know how most non-professional players are thinking. But do you know it didn't really take much coaching to swing my game around quickly and in the end, not only did I achieve a better golf swing but I saved myself walking an extra five miles around a golf course!

Better Golf Swing Techniques

A better golf swing is achieved through habit forming. What I mean by this is by committing the action of the swing to thought, continual practice of the technique will eventually be committed to memory and you'll find in time, your natural instinct will be to swing the club the correct way without thinking about the shot too much. When you're on the course during a game however, your thought process should shift more on where you intend landing the ball.

One of the problems with most inexperienced golfers is they think too much about their swing. Standing over the ball and wondering whether you are going to swing the club correctly for too long a time will only delay the inevitable. A skewed shot, left or right or even worse, completely missing the ball. Embarassing!

Target Technique

A technique taught to me which had a profound effect in my achieveing a better golf swing was choosing a spot down the fairway where I wanted to land the ball and then trying to land as close to that spot as possible. I had to train my mind away from how I was going to swing the club and to say it wasn't easy is an understatement. Eventually, after many hours of practice, I began to think more of where the ball was going to be hit than my swing technique and the transformation was enormous.

The aim of this technique was to get me concentrating more on the projection of the ball; in other words, it got me thinking ahead and took my thought away from my swing. Sometimes a golfer can try too hard and forget to relax. This method will teach you how to relax more instead of gripping the club handle too tightly wondering whether you will get enough backlift on your swing or whether the club head will connect with the ball cleanly.

It won't happen overnight with this method however, with plenty of practice, a better golf swing should be the end result.
